Let’s Talk About It — Mental Health, Medication & the Right to Choose What Heals You

Let’s have an honest conversation about mental health—without shame, without judgment, without unsolicited advice.

After a life-altering change, whether it’s grief, trauma, or transition, many of us face the quiet companions of anxiety and depression. They creep in when the noise fades. They wake us at 3am. They make everyday tasks feel impossible.

And for some, medication becomes part of the support. I’ve been on and off it myself. Not because I didn’t want to do the inner work. Not because I wasn’t “strong enough.” But because I knew I needed help—and help comes in many forms.

Here’s what breaks my heart: the way society, and especially certain circles in the wellness and No one questions when we eat differently, pray differently, move our bodies in ways that feel right. But the moment someone chooses medication to help stabilize their mental health, it suddenly becomes a debate.

Why?

Why do people think their opinion on another person’s healing is relevant?

We don’t know what someone else is carrying. We don’t know the quiet battles behind their smile.

What I know is this: You get to choose your path. You get to gather your research, talk to your doctor, trust your body, and decide what works for you. No one else walks in your shoes.

There is no gold medal for “doing it all naturally.” There is no shame in choosing what brings you peace. Medication isn’t a shortcut. It’s a bridge. And sometimes, that bridge is what helps you get to the other side.

If you’re struggling, I see you. If you’re on meds, off meds, questioning meds—I see you.

Do what you need to do to take care of your mind, your heart, your soul.

With love. Always with love
